A few years passed and Maurizio sold the company to Bahrain-based firm Investcorp for approximately £150 million. Finally, on the 27 March of 1995, he got killed in his office in Milan. Reggiani was considered an immediate suspect and received a 26-year prison sentence. Although, she claimed her innocence all the way. Black Corporeal (Between This Air) is a short film by Julian Knoxx. Where he invokes the unique sense of two of her poems, This Air and Can’t Breathe. The film is an authentic exploration of breath and it was filmed during the 2020 lockdown in the Barbican Conservatory. According to Julian, Breathing is so much more than just our lungs. It is a reflection of the way we live, both individually and together. Most of the time, we take this inhale/exhale movement for granted, and we shouldn’t do that. With all the air pollution and stress we have been through every day, breathing fresh air really is a blessing. The artist thought about the Black Structures and how they might allow Black people to help them breathe freely. This film is a metaphor for the Black People that are being suffocated by the police. Stars a British actress Sophia Brown and an eight-piece chorus. But also, contemporary dancers FUBUNATION. As we said before, this movie invokes two poems of Julian Knoxx, This Air and Can’t Breathe. The last one, he wrote in 2016 after the passing of Eric Garner, but it was not released. But, after the death of George Floyd in May 2020, and the global protest for Black liberation, everything changed. According to Julian, this is a “living oral archive of the thoughts and perspectives of my community of artists, writers, thinkers, and elders”. Black Corporeal “Black Corporeal is about exploring the fullness of our lives through our bodies”. The film opens with a line that makes all the difference, “I believed, and still do, that our bodies are our selves, that my soul is the voltage conducted through neurons and nerves, and that my spirit is my flesh.”, from Ta Nehesi-Coates 2015’s essay “Between the World and Me”. Julian says that it’s impossible to dissociate the body and nature. They are connected in a unique way and that is something to talk about. He says “You can’t separate the two. The more I study and research into the Black body, I’m like, bun this fantasy shit. We exchange breath with trees, nature, and plants. I find that really powerful. Breathing is so intrinsic to the day-to-day lives that we take it for granted.” Julian Knoxx expects that Black Corporeal inspires some kind of collective reflection! New York Apartment that combines a modern interior design with an outstanding and speechless view! Come with us and get to know this place! This New York Apartment was designed by Noha Hassan, and the interior designer says that this is not a typical New York City project. It is a 10,000 square-foot, five-bedroom, eight-bathroom duplex. The owners of the apartment fell in love with Hassan’s work and chose her to design their home. On the top floor you can find, one bedroom, two closets, two bathrooms, a sauna, and a steam room. According to Hassan, “I like my rooms to feel a little timeless,”, and that happens with the bedrooms here. Noha Hassan, born in Egypt, has lived her life in several places, such as Saudi Arabia, Luxembourg, Brussels, and London before she moved to New York. She has authentic design tastes that came from different countries. The owners and Hassan decided that the exterior view needed to be part of the interior story, so the whole apartment has both sides. Here you can find a moon pendant chandelier by Alison Berger. The chairs are by Jaime Hayon and the flow bar stools are from MDF Italia. Fendi Caffe has something particular, and the artist Sarah Coleman had something to do with it. She added a little twist to Fendi’s double-F logo. All for the Fendi Caffe that she designed for the brand in the Miami Design District. This coffee had as inspiration, the Summer Vertigo capsule collection. Designed by the artist Sarah Coleman and Fendi’s creative director, Silvia Venturini Fendi. Working side by side, they choose yellow and blue tones. All of this is in order to combine the 90’s streetwear, but also the 70’s psychedelia. Sarah Coleman explained, “When I first began brainstorming, I went straight to my bookshelf and dove into everything I have about the 1970s, a period of spontaneity and extreme self-expression,”. Besides that, she added that the ’70s are the greatest fashion era of the 20th century. Fendi Caffe receives visits every day, and the ones who visit the store are always greeted with that bright yellow color. The bar area has inspiration from Casablanca, Morocco with pink details and gold shelves. Madison in San Diego, California, by Archisects California Restaurants list continues with this restaurant and cocktail bar. It has bright blue alcoves and cedar-clad walls. The designers used wood and geometrical shapes, in order to create a welcoming space. Loqui in Downtown Los Angeles, California, by Wick Architecture & Design This is a very unique space, with a concrete floor and exposed pipes. The Ameswell, Mountain View, California The Ameswell is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, a new hotel with 255-room. All rooms and open spaces had the BAMO team behind them. They were the designers of Four Seasons Madrid and the Ritz Carlton Chicago. But, once you enter this hotel, the vibe is obviously West Coast. The Ryder, Charleston, South Carolina Charleston’s new destination is the Ryder, designed by Cortney Bishop. Inside this magical place, you can find cool colors and blond wood to complete the set. It has 91 guest rooms. The Gansevoort Hotel, New York Gansevoort Hotel Suite has one of the best views ever. This suite was a winning collaboration with Poliform and includes a whopping 1,700-square-foot duplex, 20-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, and outstanding furniture from the Italian Company. Hotel Saint Vincent, New Orleans Lambert McGuire Design was responsible for Hotel Saint Vincent. This Hotel, from 1861, has a huge transformation and now has 75 guest rooms. All of them with a unique design, besides the red tile bathroom with custom Voutsa wallcovering. It also has a pool, two restaurants, and a guests-only bar. The Newbury, Boston Newbury has an exclusive location, in Boston’s tony Back Bay. This place has a new life, with 286 guest rooms, all conceived by Champalimaud Design. Bishop’s Lodge, Santa Fe, New Mexico We take our list of the United States Hotels to New Mexico where we can find Bishop Lodge, with an 83-room escape. If you are looking for spiritual comforts, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Turquesa Healing Arts Studio, which opens this fall. Montage, Healdsburg, California Impossible not to fall in love with this view! Montage Healdsburg is an outstanding resort with 130 guest rooms. It was designed by EDG Design, Delawie, and Le Architecture, and has individual bungalows. This allows the guests to have their own time and freedom to explore. The Goodtime, Miami Beach This is an Art Deco Building composed of 266-rooms and is located in a prime South Beach location. It has views of Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. This hotel is a combination of the glamour of mid-century Acapulco and Havana. Ace, Brooklyn This was the late Ace opening! It marks the hospitality empire’s first foray into Brooklyn. Here you will find a unique, bold design that combines primitive and modern decor. The Vanderbilt, Newport, Rhode Island The Vanderbilt boutique hotel is now renovated and ready to welcome you. This a Georgian mansion that belonged to one of the Gilded Age’s wealthiest families. Once inside you will discover an interior design inspired by maritime history with found objects and vintage pieces. “Tip: Look in the mural-lined parlor to find a hidden honor bar painted in bright blue.” Downtown, LA Proper, Los Angeles We finish our list of the United States Hotels in Los Angeles! Colman Domingo presents us his wonderland home, situated in Southern California. Take a closer look at its mid-century modern home. Colman Domingo is an award-winning actor, writer, director, producer, and now a professor. He had an important play in Euphoria, but also in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Besides that, he’s going to participate in three more movies this summer, Zola, The God Committee, and Candyman. Side by side with his career, Colman decided to add something else, decorator. Working with his husband, Raúl Domingo, they were able to find a home for them. A mid-century modern home that is perfectly decorated. According to Colman, “It felt like Big Bear meets Palms Springs,” “I walked in and said, ‘Oh, this is our home,’. This house, built-in 1965 by the architect Jules Salkin, is the place where old meets new and they combine so well together. Fun and Joy is what we can see, not only in this bathroom, but in every place of these home. Colman and Raúl didn’t have to make several changes in the house. They kept the integrity and personality of the place and that was very important. Every corner of their house is a representation of their stories, their experiences, their lives together.
